OTT Ajay Devgn Ajay Devgn Koffee with Karan Season 8

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn on Thursday graced the Koffee couch at the latest episode of Koffee with Karan Season 8 along with film-maker Rohit Shetty. As expected both Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty spilled the beans on their professional as well as personal life. While Rohit Shetty revealed that he worked as an Assistant Director in at least 10 movies of Ajay Devgn before he cast him for Zameen, Ajay Devgn revealed how tricky was the phase when his debut movie Phool Aur Kaante was about to release the theaters in 1991.

Koffee with Karan host Karan Johar started the conversation by asking Ajay Devgn about the box office clash between his debut film Phool Aur Kaante and Yash Raj's film Lamhe. Ajay Devgn revealed that before the release of the movie Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor warned him not to release the movie alongside Lamhe.

Narrating the conversation, Ajay Devgn revealed, ", "I don't know, when you are young you don't think all these things. As a newcomer, I had no choice in the date of the film. And my attitude at that point of time also, when I started work, you know you are carefree at that age. So, it's like if does good then ok, if not, I will try something else."

"And I remember Anil ji met me. Very sweetly. He was being very honest. He said, 'What are you all doing? Tell your producer not to come..I mean Lamhe is such a big film. Obviously such a big starcast. Yash ji..I said, 'Sir, it's not in my hand what can I do?'. And when the film was released, he met me and he said, 'You just ..whatever'."

For those who are unaware, Lamhe was directed & produced by late filmmaker Yash Chopra and featured     Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Anupam Kher, and more in the leading roles. For the unversed, Lamhe and Phool Aur Kaante were at loggerheads at the box office. While most of the stars expected that Lamhe would outshine Phool Aur Kaante, the result was totally different.
