
Bollywood veteran actor Ajay Devgn on Wednesday lashed out at South actor Kichcha Sudeepa over 'Hindi not a national language' remark. Ajay Devgn on Wednesday took to his Twitter handle and asked Kichcha Sudeepa why his films get dubbed in Hindi if it is not a National Language of India? Ajay Devgan Hindi National language row erupted after Kichcha Sudeepa, who is known for working in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil language films but predominantly in Kannada films, said "Hindi is no more a national language" and opined that Bollywood is struggling to find success in the South Indian film industry while dubbing their films in Telugu and Tamil.
Kichcha Sudeepa had said, ''Hindi is no more a national language" during the trailer launch event of the film R: The Deadliest Gangster Ever. It is pertinent to mention here that the national language debate started earlier in April when Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that Hindi should be accepted as an alternative to English and not to local languages.
Taking to Twitter, the Runway 34 actor wrote, "According to you if Hindi is not our national language then why do you release your mother tongue movies by dubbing them in Hindi? Hindi was, is and always will be our mother tongue and national language." Notably, Ajay Devgn wrote his opinion in Hindi language taking an indirect dig over the South Superstar.
Kichcha Sudeepa puts a full stop over Hindi National Language row
As soon as Ajay Devgn lambasted the South Superstar, Sudeepa was quick to respond and issue a clarification over 'Hindi not a national language' remark. Sudeepa wrote, "'Hello@ajaydevgn sir.. the context to why I said that line is entirely different to the way I guess it has reached you,'' he continued, ''Probably will emphasis on why the statement was made when I see you in person. It wasn't to hurt, Provoke or to start any debate. Why would I sir.''
In another follow-up tweet, the 48-year-old Kanada actor wrote that he 'loves and respects' every language of the country and added that he would like to mark an end to this topic. He added, ''I said the line in a totally different context. Much love and wish to you always. Hoping to seeing you soon.''

Over Kichcha Sudeepa's question, Ajay Devgn stated that he respects every language and in return expect the same from everyone. "Hi @KicchaSudeep, You are a friend. thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding. I’ve always thought of the film industry as one. We respect all languages and we expect everyone to respect our language as well. Perhaps, something was lost in translation," wrote Ajay Devgn.
