In an immensely proud moment for India, Indian-origin pop star Akash Ahuja's song affection featured in the US iTunes chart. Akash Ahuja became the first Indian artist to have a song without any features to hit the iTunes charts.

Affection peaked at position 42. On 10 June 2020, Akash released his song “Affection” which charted on the iTunes Hip-Hop top 50.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Ahuja says that “Affection” was inspired by his very intimate and personal experiences. "I was head over heels for a girl overseas and although we had our moments, it came to an end when she got into a relationship with someone else. After some time, I met an amazing person who showed me what it really means to love and be loved. However, as soon as I moved on, the girl from overseas kept calling me all the time to get my attention back and I feel like I meant nothing more than validation to her. Hence the line “She loves me like I wish you did. You want what you can't get. You want my attention...”. It was the process of letting go of one soul to be part of another that inspired the writing and sound of my song Affection," says Akash Ahuja.
