With the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 months away, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning something when it comes to Punjab. While talks of the BJP-SAD alliance are in the final stages as per Amit Shah, the saffron party is in talks with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar to field from Punjab. Yes! you heard it right. As per BJP Senior leadership, the party is in talks with Akshay Kumar to field him from a constituency in Punjab for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024.

The announcement of Akshay Kumar's entry into the BJP may take place after the saffron party comes to a consensus with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) over seat sharing. As per sources, the BJP is mulling to field Akshay Kumar either from Ludhiana or Amritsar.  Currently, the BJP has three seats in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur. However, the saffron party is in talks wit the Akali Dal for equal seat sharing meaning it wants 7 seats (including Chandigarh) and 7 will be kept for the SAD. There are a total of 13 Lok Sabha Seats in Punjab and 1 is from Chandigarh.

Sources suggest that the BJP has asked for 6 seats in Punjab and 1 from Chandigarh. The 6 seats of Punjab include- Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Ferozepour, and Ludhiana, and the BJP wants to field Akshay Kumar from Ludhiana, however, if the Akali Dal decides to keep Ludhiana for itself, sources suggest that the Kesari actor will get the party ticket from Amritsar. Interestingly, Bollywood actor Sunny Deol won from Gurdaspur in the last Lok Sabha Elections. However, after the success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol has announced that he will not contest the Lok Sabha Elections. It means BJP has the option to contest Akshay Kumar from Gurdaspur as well.

Notably, Akshay Kumar has not confirmed whether he is mulling to enter into politics, however, it is a well-known fact that the Bollywood actor has played a Sikh in his multiple movies. A few of them are- Kesari, Mission Raniganj, Singh Is Kinng, Singh Is Bliing, etc.
