
The Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation (CDSCO) has declared various common drugs as not of standard quality. These drugs have failed in the random monthly quality test done by CDSCO. Many common drugs including paracetamol, vitamin D and calcium supplements, high blood pressure medications, and anti-diabetes pills have not passed the quality test done by CDSCO.
The Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation has released a ‘Not of Standard Quality Alert’ (NSQ Alert). Theses alerts are generated in the random tests done to check the quality of the drugs manufactured.
The Pulmosil's drug-makers stated, “The actual manufacturer (as per label claim) has informed that the impugned batch of the product has not been manufacturer by them and that it is a spurious drug. The product is purported to be spurious, however, the same is subjected to outcome of investigation.”
