Model-Actress Gehana Vasisth, best-known for her appearance in AltBalaji’s erotic web series Gandii Baat in a season 3 episode has been arrested for allegedly shooting and uploading pornographic videos.
Gehana is the actor’s stage name, her real name is Vandana Tiwari. She has been arrested by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police and is said to be produced before the court on Monday. On Thursday, Mumbai police raided a bungalow in Madh Island, Malad and busted a live porn video film making racket and rescued one woman.
“Actress Gehana Vasisth has been arrested by Property Cell of the Crime Branch for her alleged role in shooting and uploading porn videos on a website. She will be produced before a court in Mumbai today: Mumbai Police,” quoted news agency ANI.
The involvement of more models, actresses and some production houses which edited and uploaded the film shot by arrested accused on mobile apps and websites is being investigated, the police said.
Since the racket has come into the light, three more victims have come forward and complained to the police that they were forced into working in porn films.
High definition video cameras, six mobile phones, a laptop, spotlights, a camera stand, memory card containing video clips and dialogues/clips have been seized by the police for enquiry.
The police were given a tip that a gang was publishing ads for casting fresh faces. They lured artists with the pretext of offering them roles in movies, rented these bungalows and made them do odd scenes. The gang tempted them with bigger amounts and got them to sign agreements and forced them to act in pron movies. The gang generated money by uploading video clips on apps and social media.
Senior inspector (property cell) Kedari Pawar and Laxmikant Salunke are investigating officers of the case and the raid was led by them.
Gehana made headlines after she was admitted to hospital as suffered from a fatal cardiac attack in 2019 while shooting for a web-series. The doctors said she might have reacted to prescription drugs and certain energy drinks consumed by her.
The actress is a native of Chirimiri, Chhattisgarh and was born in 1988. Gehana has done many item numbers down south in Telugu movies.
