Ambala: Man who wanted to send his son to Canada duped for 4.50 lakhs by immigration agent

Now, around 3 years have passed and his son still has not gone to Canada.

A case of fraud of Rs 4.50 lakh has come to the fore in Ambala City, Haryana in the name of sending the person to abroad. The complaint has been submitted to the Superintendent of Police by the aggrieved person. The accused is a female agent and a case has been registered against her. The aggrieved has been identified as Subhash Chandra, a resident of Kalal Majri. The person wanted to send his son to Canada.

Giving an insight into the case the aggrieved informed the police that he met the accused named Archana Batra almost 3 years ago at Shri Shirdi Sai Dham Temple. During a conversation, the female agent assured the aggrieved to send his son to Canada on a study visa within two months. Later, the deal was done for Rs. 18 lakhs. Post this the aggrieved has alleged that the accused took an advance of Rs. 4.50 lakhs in the name of college fees.

Now, around 3 years have passed and his son still has not gone to Canada. Not only this, but the agent has also not returned the money that was paid to her for depositing the college fees in Canada.

Around 3 months ago, Subhash called for a meeting with his friend in Sector-7 Ambala City. While the meeting was going on, Subhash spotted the husband of the accused and held him. After being asked he confessed that the money given in advance has been utilized by the accused to invest in their own company.

The complaint given reads that the aggrieved has now sent his son to Germany through someone else. Subhash mentioned further that he has called the accused several times but now they threaten to do anything with his family. The investigation has been initiated by the Police on the basis of the complaint.
