For the past few days, things have not been going well for the Punjabi influencers fraternity. It all started with the shocking murder of a Ludhiana-based influencer, Kamal Kaur Bhabhi aka Kanchan Kumari. Bathinda SSP, in a press conference, revealed that Kamal Kaur was strangled to death in a garage by two to three men. In the case, the Police made Amritpal Singh Mehron the prime accused, and days later also issued a Look Out Circular against him, informing that the murder accused's travel history suggests that he fled to the UAE on the night of the murder. After Kamal's murder, Amritpal Singh Mehron issued a video in which he named a few more social media influencers of Punjab and issued death threats to them for making content that was vulgar and obscene.

Now, influencer Surleen Kaur has broken her silence in the entire controversy and also addressed the threats from Amritpal Singh Mehron and the support he is getting from Pakistani Gangster Shehzad Bhatti. Surleen, who is reportedly based in Canada but originally hails from Mohali, has uploaded three videos on her Instagram (Surleen Kaur Instagram).

Canada-based influencer Surleen Kaur, though not named by Mehron, issued a video statement on her Instagram that she had been also receiving threats since Friday. “What about the people who watch the content we make? If people start watching good quality content we will be forced to make decent content. I tried. For a good song I got 5 lakh views and for a dirty song I got 10 million views. So who is responsible for the spread of such content? As far as life and death is concerned whatever is destined to happen will happen. I am going through a very bad phase in my life because my father is on the ventilator and yet I am being tagged in threatening messages,” she said.

Surleen then uploaded another video on her Instagram profile addressing the demand of a section of people that she should apologise for making vulgar content. Surleen lambasted the trolls saying that she will not apologise. Without directly naming Amritpal Mehron, Surleen said she had also been threatened and pressured to issue an apology. “I have neither apologized, nor will I ever apologize,” she asserted, adding that she has supported herself through hard work and is not dependent on anyone. "These threats won’t silence me because I haven’t done anything wrong," she said, urging authorities to take strict action against those responsible.

Surleen exposes Pakistani gangster Shehzad Bhatti

Notably, Mehron got the support from Pakistani gangster Shehzad Bhatti, who is said to have ties with the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi Gang. But, these days, Bhatti and Bishnoi have reportedly ways after India-Pakistan tensions.

Surleen accused Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti of running a smear campaign against her for over a year. She claimed Bhatti released multiple videos attacking her character and made offensive remarks about Sikh girls. “I stood alone for the community; no other girl came forward. Yet these people defamed me using my photos, and even linked me falsely with Amritpal,” she stated.

Surleen also shared an audio clip in which she alleged, Bhatti could be heard making derogatory statements about Sikh girls and suggesting converting them to Islam. While Surleen broadcasted the clip for public awareness, she clarified that such content should be investigated.
