Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express is turning out to be a lifeline for the railway passengers in Punjab. The services are witnessing long waiting lists. To address the problem of the waiting list in Punjab Vande Bharat Trains, the Indian Railways has decided to increase the number of coaches on the high-speed train. Officials confirmed that the train (Train No. 22487/22488), which currently operates with 8 coaches, will now run with 16 coaches starting July 10 from Delhi and July 12 from Amritsar.

Train No. 22487 departs New Delhi at 3:15 PM, halts at Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Beas, and Jalandhar Cantt, and arrives in Amritsar at 8:45 PM.
Train No. 22488 leaves Amritsar at 8:20 AM, reaches Jalandhar Cantt at 9:28 AM, and arrives at New Delhi at 1:50 PM.
Officials highlighted that the train’s timing has been strategically planned to allow passengers to complete their daily business or personal errands and return the same day. The Vande Bharat Express is equipped with advanced features such as automatic doors, GPS-based passenger information systems, plush seating, high-speed connectivity, and cleaner coaches.
Railway authorities emphasized that this upgrade will also help manage festive rushes, especially during the upcoming Sharavan month, Navratri, Diwali, etc.
