Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday told the Rajya Sabha that there was no curfew in Kashmir while he said the normalcy has been restored in the state.
Presenting the status report on Kashmir in Rajya Sabha, Amit Shah defended internet ban in the Valley and added that further decision will be reviewed by the local administration.
As far as internet services are concerned, the decision can be taken by the Jammu and Kashmir authorities. There are activities by Pakistan too in Kashmir region, so keeping security in mind, whenever the local authority deems it fit, a decision will be taken, Amit Shah said.
Amit Shah also said there was no curfew in any police station area in Jammu & Kashmir.
Availability of medicines is adequate, there is no problem. Mobile medicine vans have also started. The administration has taken care of health services," the Home Minister said.
Following an uproar by the Congress who claimed that the situation was anything but normal in Kashmir, Amit Shah said national security was above internet services.
