Amit Shah to visit policemen who got injured during tractor rally violence

Delhi Police commissioner claimed that Delhi police have handled the sudden violence with restraint preventing a major law and order situation in Delhi during the tractor rally mayhem.

Union home minister Amit Shah will visit Shushrut Trauma Centre and Tirath Ram Hospital in the Civil Lines area to meet policemen who were wounded during the R-Day tractor rally violence. Over 300 police officers were injured in the violence that erupted at ITO after protesting farmers deviated from the agreed tractor march route and broke inside the Capital attacked police and soon reached Red Fort. 

Amit Shah on Tuesday held an urgent meeting to review security in the city and ordered the deployment of 13 paramilitary forces to maintain the law and order situation of the national capital.

The farmers' unions said they have no involvement in the violence and claimed that their protest was infiltrated by outsiders otherwise everything was going peaceful. While police have said it won’t spare those who were involved and has issued notice to 20 farm leaders asking the name of those who were involved in violent acts from their organisations. 

On the contrary, the protesters have accused police of stopping them by barricading and fired tear gas shells.

One police officer on duty inside the Red Fort on Republic Day said that he heard the protestors using slogans of 'police ke maro'. 

Protesters were armed with lathis and attacked officers and some at ITO tried overrunning police with their tractors.
