Union Minister of State & BJP leader Ravneet Bittu on Wednesday dropped a bombshell when he alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah used to take Narain Singh Chaura's side in the past. Ravneet Bittu during an interaction with the media gave his response on the assassination attempt on Sukhbir Badal outside the Golden Temple gate by Narain Singh Chaura.
Talking to the media outside Parliament, Bittu said that Sukhbir Singh Badal's life was saved because he was in God's house. 'Akal Purakh protected him. I always used to say to these Akalis that whether they are my grandfather's murderers or someone else, they are not related to anyone. One day they will bite anyone', said Bittu.
"This is the same Narain Singh Chaura who helped my grandfather Sardar Beant Singh's murderers escape from jail. When the world's largest tunnel was built in Burail Jail, Chandigarh, it was Narain Singh Chaura who helped all the accused escape through that tunnel," added Bittu.
Ravneet Bittu further revealed, "When I was an MP from Anandpur Sahib in 2009, the then SSP of Ropar Ranbir Singh called me and told me not to go out of the house for 3 days. Because Narain Singh Chaura is roaming around with a load of gunpowder in his Ambassador car. He wants to enter your convoy and kill you. Then I cancelled all my programs for 3 days and spent the day at home. After this, Chaura was caught."
However, what has raised eyebrows of everyone when Ravneet Bittu alleged that Amit Shah used to support Narain Singh Chaura. "Today I want to say to the Akali Dal, whatever happens now, I do not want to get into that matter. Then Amit Shah ji (Union Home Minister) also used to say from here that take him (Narain Singh Chaura) out, pardon his death sentence. This Narain Singh Chaura has come out."
"I want to congratulate the Punjab Police. The police do everything, but when they catch the accused, the court does not punish them. They start getting protection from outside. Big lawyers from Canada and America come and stand for them. That is why I condemn this," Bittu concluded.
