Amritpal Singh's statement lands him in controversy, says shops with signboards written in Hindi language should be boycotted

Congress and BJP in Punjab have requested the present government to initiate an inquiry against him.

The ‘Waris Punjab De’ Chief, Amritpal Singh who is a staunch' Bhindranwale follower has once again landed into controversy with his latest remarks that are going viral on various social media platforms.

Amritpal Singh while addressing the media personnel said that people of Punjab should now stop their purchases from shops that have Hindi signboards. He further added that any shop that has Hindi language written on it or any signboard supporting it should be boycotted by the locals of the state.

While sharing his opinion on the clash between Christian and Sikh communities that took place yesterday when the Christians started pelting stones at Gurudwara Sahib over a 2-lakh-rupees grant. He stated that police should take strict action against the people who pelted stones at the holy place. The ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief further added, “Sikh community never pelts stone at any holy place or disrespect other religion. If no action is taken against the responsible then we will take law and order in our hands.”

He also gave a statement against Ludhiana MP, Ravneet Singh Bittu. Amritpal Singh said that if Ravneet Bittu thinks that they are hooligans then he should quit Sikhism, leave the state and should start living in Delhi. These statements by him have created a lot of controversies all over Punjab.

Amritpal Singh came to Punjab from Dubai on 20 August 2022 and became the head of ‘Waris Punjab De’ organization which was started by Deep Sidhu. His Pro-Khalistani remarks and statements on freedom of Punjab have created a state of unrest in Punjab. The government has assured to take action against it and the opposition (BJP & Congress) have also requested an inquiry to be initiated against him.
