The man who has been the center of most controversies in Punjab in recent days, Amritpal Singh, came out with another explosive statement. The 'Waris Punjab De ' head said that having a passport doesn't make him Indian. He claims that a passport is just a "travel document " and it has no bearing on his nationality as he says he is not an Indian. This is one of the few things that were discussed in the interview Amritpal gave just a day ago .

Amritpal Singh has been stirring up the political discourse in Punjab recently. He has constantly advocated for ' Khalistan ', a sovereign nation for Sikhs . Today he expressed his views on militancy and called it a " natural phenomenon " . He said, "Militancy is not something that I am able to start. Nobody can start or end militancy. Militancy is a very natural phenomenon " . Explaining his rationale on how militancy occurs he continued, "It happens after a long period of suppression anywhere. Is militancy a constructive thing to start? I can order someone to start militancy, it does not happen like that. There is a peaceful protest. "

He made a comment about Amit Shah on 23 February, "Amit Shah had said that he won't let Khalistan movement rise. I had said that the same was done by Indira Gandhi & if you do the same then you'd have to face consequences. " In this interview he clarified what he meant by saying that was " not a threat".

While speaking further on Amit Shah he explained his perspective , " When Amit Shah said that he will suppress things, I said there will be consequences. It's not just about Indira Gandhi's murder as consequence. It's not a threat to Home Minister. I would say is a threat to us. What options do we have when there are legal binaries in India? ".

HBO Max cancels the critically-acclaimed sitcom South Side ; Here is why.

On the topic of his citizenship Amritpal said , " I don't consider myself a citizen of India. I just have a passport, which does not make me Indian. It's a travel document,".

These comments come few days after few days of Ajnala incident where Amritpal's followers clashed with the police after which his close aide Toofan Singh was released . It remains to be seen how the political landscape changes in Punjab with Amritpal's prominence increasing day by day .
