Airports of Punjab
In Punjab, the situation has remained stable for the past two days, prompting authorities to resume air operations. Apart from Chandigarh, airports in Amritsar, Adampur (Jalandhar), and Sahnewal (Ludhiana) are now open and fully operational. These airports had been closed for five days as a precautionary measure amid escalating cross-border developments.
Additionally, Gaggal Airport in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, has also reopened from 10:30 AM on May 12, 2025. The shutdown was initiated following the ‘Operation Sindoor’ airstrike that took place on the night of May 6–7, and initially, the closure was scheduled to last until May 15. However, improving conditions have allowed authorities to restore services earlier than planned.
