As per the latest development in the police-gangster encounter that took place in Amritsar, police have started questioning with the arrested gangster Aman alias Raj Kumar who is a resident of Kiran colony.
Reportedly, there is a businessman who is a resident of Manjitha Road. A few days back he informed the police that he has been receiving threat calls from some unknown persons who are demanding Rs. 20 lakhs from him. Post this, to threaten him more, some miscreants open fired near his residence on December 20, 2022. When he went out to check, the victim saw 2 miscreants fleeing away from the scene. The victim has submitted the number from which he received the calls to the police.
Soon after the police got information about the same, they put the phone numbers on tracking through which the information was received that the accused were near Gumtala bypass. The police reached there and started a search operation to find them. During the search operation, miscreants sighted the police and started firing, police also fired in retaliation. While the encounter was going on, one bullet hit the leg of gangster Aman who is now in police custody.
ACP North Varinder Khosa informed about the whole incident and gave the details of how the whole planning was done and at the end, gangsters were caught. He also informed that during this encounter, one gangster fled away from the scene and police are trying to find his location as well.
The gunman of ACP North also got injured during the encounter and was admitted to Amandeep Hospital. As per information, his condition is stable. Further investigation is being carried out.
