A young boy from Amritsar weaves a tale of love and hardwork as he took over a shop that was run by his father before his recent death. 15-year-old Simran Jot Singh took over his father’s food shop at the Fuhare Wala Chowk, after he tragically passed away sometime ago.

The shop, Balbir Tea Stall, is located in front of Punjab & Sindh Bank at the Fuhare vala Chowk in Amritsar. Simran fulfils all the duties of a schoolboy, routinely attending his classes during the day, all the while fulfilling his managerial duties at the shop. He opens the cart early at 5:00 AM in the morning and after running it for a while goes to his school.

He then returns in the evening to continue the food shop’s operations. Although there are other employees, he is the one who oversees the operations of the shop. His siblings are settled abroad and he stays here with his mother, diligently working at the shop to financially support her and himself.
