In a shocking and bizarre incident, a Punjab Police personnel accidentally fired upon a youth who was working in a mobile shop in Amritsar. The shocking incident took place in a mobile shop near Amritsar Railway station. After the youth was accidentally shot, people around them took him to the hospital and the Police stated that the victim is in critical condition. Varinder Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (north), Amritsar was quoted by a newswire saying, "The accused policeman has been suspended and necessary action will be taken against him based on the statements of eyewitnesses and family." Now, Amritsar shooting CCTV footage has been going viral on social media with people in utter shock over the irresponsible incident.

In the Amritsar accidental police firing video, the policeman can be seen at the mobile shop and talking to the salesmen over there. Then, he pulls out his gun and shows it to a man standing beside him and another person sitting across the counter at the mobile shop. When the man standing beside the policeman takes the gun in his hand, the policeman immediately takes it away, and during that he accidentally pulls the trigger of his pistol, injuring a youth.
