Amritsar: Sikh and Christian community engage in violent clash over 2 lakh rupees grant, video viral

A complaint was lodged by police against both the groups for creating unrest in the village

Shocking information has surfaced from Amritsar where two groups of Sikh and Christian communities indulged in a dispute over the grant. Reportedly, the incident is from Sheikh Patti village of Anjala, Amritsar.

As per the information received, Sarbjit Kaur, sarpanch of village received a grant of Rs. 2 lakhs out of which half of the total amount was given to Gurdwara Shaheed Jeevan Singh Sahib while the left 1 lakh rupees were provided to Girja Ghar. Post, this the Sikh fraternity has alleged that the Christian community group pressurized the sarpanch to provide entire amount for the church.

This became the main reason for dispute between both groups. Recently, it is being alleged that the group of Christian community surrounded the village and started pelting stones at Gurudwara Sahib. When the Sarpanch and members of gurudwara tried to stop them from doing so, they were also assaulted.

Later, a case was registered regarding the matter and complaint was lodged against both the groups. Post this, the Nihang Jathebandis reached the village and started a campaign against the same. The police have reached the spot and tried to pacify both groups. As per reports, additional security forces have been deployed to keep the situation under control.
