The action of the Vigilance Bureau has come to the fore in Amritsar. Vigilance is interrogating DIG Inderbir under the case of drug smuggling and corruption. In fact, on July 6, a case of corruption was registered against Tarn Taran DSP Lakhbir Singh, while Surjit Singh was arrested with 900 grams of opium.
DSP Lakhvir Singh was arrested by the Tarn Taran Police for accepting Rs 10 lakhs as a bribe from a drug supplier for not nominating him in the FIR registered under NDPS Act in Tarn Taran.
During interrogation, the DSP confessed that he took bribe, he said that he had given part of the bribe to the DIG, after which DIG Inderbir Singh, who is posted in the Police Academy, Phillaur, is also being questioned by the Vigilance. On the other hand, DIG Inderbir Singh has denied the allegations against him and called them baseless.
