Amritsar: Youths loot Rs. 22 lakh at gunpoint from Punjab National Bank, CCTV viral

Along with Rs. 22 lakhs, the robbers also stole Rs. 1 lakh from a person who came to deposit it

In the latest development, a robbery of Rs. 22 lakh was carried out at gunpoint in Punjab National Bank. The incident was reported from Rani Ka Bagh, Main Road in Amritsar. As their was no security guard present inside the bank, so it became easier for robbers to carry out loot in broad daylight. The CCTV of theft has gone viral. Investigation is underway.

Reportedly, two youths came riding on active and entered the bank with guns in their hand. As there was no security present inside the bank, it became easier for them to carry out the loot. One of the robbers then went near cashier and told him to put all the money inside a bag. They stole Rs.22 lakh on gunpoint and fled away from the scene. One of the eyewitnesses said that he unknowingly went inside the bank due to work and the robbers stole Rs. 1 lakh from his as well.

On getting the information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. They have also taken hold of the CCTV footage. The bank officials have given description of the robbers and based on their statements accused will soon be arrested.
