In a fight against the deadly pandemic Coronavirus, Andhra Pradesh government has taken some serious steps. The state government has adopted a tool "Covid alerting tracking system" developed by State Disaster Management Authority to track over 25,000 people placed under home quarantine, by tracking the location of their numbers in realtime with help of telecom service providers.

Authorities have a database of mobile numbers of these 25,000 people. Taking base location as the location of a person's residence, the tool is equipped to alert district authorities if the person travels beyond a 100m radius from base location, violating norms of home quarantine.
