Elante Mall executive director and CEO of Hotel Hyatt Anil Malhotra have been arrested by Police on Monday midnight for assaulting a woman.
The accused, Anil Malhotra, is the executive director of corporate affairs, hospitality, offices and CSR, Nexus Malls.
According to Police, a woman had filed a complaint against Malhotra for stalking her. They both worked together previously. He had been sending abusive text messages to her and her husband, and also threatening and blackmailing them. He had also stalked her when she visited the mall a few times. The police are now scrutinizing the CCTV cameras installed in the mall for evidence.
A case under sections 354, 354D and 506 of the IPC was registered at the Industrial Area police station. Before joining the Elante Mall, Malhotra had been posted as a general manager with a leading five-star hotel in Sector 17 for a long time.
Malhotra had been sent to three days remand. During his custody, police will inspect his mobile phone and go over the evidence submitted by the complainant.
Earlier this week, a criminal case has been registered against him. Industrial Area Police Station on April 2, on the complaint of Puneet Gupta, partner of Ayan Food and many people of the mall management, filed a case against Anil for blocking and threatening the food court of Elante.
