A case of misappropriation of Rs. 40 lakh 85 thousand 175 rupees from the grants received by various Gram Panchayats under the Punjab Nirman Program Scheme has come to light. Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Amloh, Gurinder Singh Gary Birring made this disclosure. 
 
He said that the then Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) Amloh, Kulwinder Singh Randhawa had paid a total of Rs. 40 lakh 85 thousand 175 rupees to 4 companies through checks and to one person through RTGS.

The matter has been investigated by the present BDPO, Hiten Kapila and a report has been sent to the District Development and Panchayat Officer, Fatehgarh Sahib. Seema Jain IAS Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development and Panchayat Department Punjab has suspended the then BDPO Kulwinder Singh Randhawa who was serving as BDPO at Dhillwan (Bhulath) and ordered him to appear before the District Development and Panchayat Officer's office.

BDPO Kulwinder Singh Randhawa said that the accountant was on election duty at that time and the payment which was to be made from Punjab National Bank had been made by mistake by HDFC Bank. This was not done out of malice.
