iOS 18 to be released today; Know launch timing in India, features, how to install & all about iPhone new update

The countdown for the much-awaited iOS 18 has begun as Apple is all set to drop its latest iPhone Operating System Update. Apple will launch its biggest iPhone update- iOS 18 update on Monday, September 16, 2024. The newly launched iPhone 16 will run with AI-powered iOS 18. Apple’s iOS 18 OS update has brought various new features for the users. The update has introduced all new customization options for both lock screen and home screen, a redesigned Control Centre and a password management app as well. The customization options will now allow the users you to rearrange the apps and widgets freely as per their requirements and change their appearance as well.

Other features include enhanced text effect in the messages, a modified Photos app and modified organization tools in the mail app of the iPhone.

When is the iOS 18 update releasing?

Apple’s iOS OS update in launching today, on 16^th September. However, Apple has not announced the time of the iOS 18 update launch. But it is assumed that Apple will launch it at 10:30 pm in India as it usually launches all the software updates at 10:30 pm IST.

There are a few processes that the users should follow before installing the iOS 18 OS update. 

How to prepare the device for installation process?

1. Firstly, the users should ensure that their devices have sufficient storage space, if not then the users can uninstall the unused apps in order to increase the storage space in their devices.
2. The users can check their social media apps like WhatsApp and Instagram as these apps can store cache files that decrease the storage space. Make sure to clear these cache data. The users should optimise their devices as well.
3. The users should not forget to back up their iPhones. This step in crucial as if something goes wrong in the installation process, this step will safeguard the data of the users.
4. Before installing the iOS 18 update, the users should fully charge their devices and connect their phones to Wi-Fi.
5. Finally, the users can download the software update. The users can go to Settings then General and then Software Update to check for the download.

However, the iOS 18 will be already installed in the iPhone 16. This initial release of iOS 18 has not included Apple Intelligence features as these features will be introduced in future updates.
