The ongoing TRP scam case investigation and the court hearings hint that the situation might get tensed between the Mumbai Police and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In a massive development in the TRP Scam case, an accused who is also an approver of the Mumbai Police has filed a plea approached the Bombay High Court. In the plea, Mishra alleges that the ED forced him to change his original statement to the Mumbai police as an approver. The scam is being probed by the city police, while ED has registered a separate money laundering case in the matter.

Mishra has filed an intervention application in the petition filed by Republic TV's Arnab Goswami challenging the validity of the Mumbai Police FIR.  Mishra was an employee of Hansa and he was allegedly involved in making payments to different houses to keep certain channels running. He was arrested in October and soon he agreed to be an approver against Republic TV. He had also confessed before a magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code, said his application filed on Thursday through advocates Dhinika Shah and Gaurav Borse. A statement under Section 164 of CrPC is admissible as evidence.

Mishra's plea alleges that Mishra said: "his statement was recorded under threats, contrary to the statement… recorded before Metropolitan Magistrate." He was summoned by the ED on December 18. The approver pleads to the court that before passing its judgement in the plea filed by Arnab, the court should listen to him what he has to say.
