In Punjab, the state government has officially declared a one-day public holiday for tomorrow, April 29 (Tuesday). The holiday has been announced on the occasion of the birth anniversary (Jayanti) of Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Ji. In light of this decision, all government and private schools, colleges, government offices, and other commercial establishments across the state will remain closed on Tuesday.

Various programs and events will also be organized in several places to commemorate the occasion. These festivities will include religious gatherings and community feasts (Langar), where people will come together to honor Bhagwan Parshuram’s legacy and teachings.

Different parts of the city will host special ceremonies and events to mark this significant day.

Bhagwan Parshuram is regarded as the sixth incarnation (avatar) of Lord Vishnu, one of the principal gods of Hinduism. According to belief, he was born during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon in the Hindu lunar calendar) of the Vaishakh month, making this day highly auspicious for his followers.

Parshuram Jayanti is not only a religious occasion but also a day of cultural significance across India, especially in northern parts, where Bhagwan Parshuram is revered as a symbol of holiness, strength, and devotion.

His life and actions continue to inspire many, and his Jayanti is seen as a time to remember his contributions towards upholding dharma (righteousness) and justice.

Public response to the holiday announcement has been positive. Joy has spread among students, employees, and business owners following the holiday announcement. With a day of rest and festivities ahead, temples and organizations are making arrangements to honor the occasion with devotion, respect, and community gatherings.
