Arnab Goswami on Wednesday released from Tajola Jail after the Supreme Court of India granted interim bail to the Republic Chief. Republic TV chief Arnab Goswami was kept under judicial custody when he was shifted to Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai.

Moments after being released from the jail, Arnab said, "It is the victory of the people of India and I extend my gratitude to the people of India."

Arnab also chanted 'Bharat Mata Ki Jay' and also 'Tanashahi nahi chalegi' with the masses gathered around to see him coming outside the jail.  

Now going by the reports, Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami approaches sessions court in Mumbai seeking pre-arrest bail in case registered against him by Mumbai Police for allegedly assaulting a woman police officer.

Granting bail to Goswami, Justice Chandrachud said, "Keep aside everything. If this is what our state governments are going to do to people who are to be nailed, then the Supreme Court has to intervene. There has to be a message to HCs- Please exercise your jurisdiction to uphold personal liberty. We are seeing case after case. HCs are failing to exercise jurisdiction. People are in jail for tweets!"
