Asian Games fame Khushbir Kaur on a new assignment: Know her early life and achievements

Asian Games medalist Khushbir was also part of the Indian contingent in the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.

PPS Officer and Asian Games Silver Medalist Khushbir Kaur has been given the command of ACP Model Town, Jalandhar. Belonging to Rasulpur in Amritsar, Khushbir Kaur bagged the silver medal in the race walk event in the 2014 Asian Games. She was also part of the Indian contingent in the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.


After her podium finish performance in the Asian Games, Punjab Government offered her a job in the state police. Her mother Jasveer took lots of pain in looking after the family, she had to work in people’s homes. The story of her family’s plight dates back to the year 2008 when she ran barefoot in the Juniors National event, just because her family couldn’t afford her expensive shoes for the grade she needed.


14 years old Khushbir in the year 2007 won the state-level 3000 meters race. The Asian champion Baldev Singh acknowledged her potential and started to train her. Under his mentorship, Khushbir started to take part in the International circuit. She won Silver Medal in the 2010 Youth Asian Games, and a Bronze in the 10,000 meters event in the 2012, Asian Junior Championships in Colombo. Khushbir owns a national record in this event.
