In Muktsar, Punjab, Police Station Lambi has filed a complaint against a person for pressuring an individual to end his life. Lovepreet Singh Vasi Mohlan stated that his father Gurpal Singh was an assistant police officer in the Punjab Police in the complaint he made to the police in this respect. He worked as a caretaker in Thana Lambi for Malkhana for a considerable amount of time.
According to him, his father, Gurpal Singh, arrived at the Police Station on August 6 in the course of his work, and at around 5:40 am. He later learned that Gurpal Singh had hanged himself in the Police Station Lambi residential area from a ceiling fan. Then, with the assistance of SHO Swaran Singh, he and his uncle Jagdish Singh traveled to the Lambi police station and entered his father's quarters. His father Gurpal Singh's lifeless body was hung from the room's ceiling fan.
Lovepreet Singh said, “The neck was wrapped in an orange scarf that was fastened with a fan. Following that, I went through my father Gurpal Singh's things and discovered a suicide note in the pocket of his jeans. It was mentioned there that PHG Gurjant Singh, along with my father, had been serving as an assistant in the evidence room (Malkhana) in police station Lambi for a long period of time. It has a record of all the objects that are lying around the police station. Due to this, PHG Gurjant Singh stole thousands of rupees from the evidence room of the police station; he has refused to return these funds despite repeated requests. PHG Gurjant Singh utilized these funds for his own purposes and consumed them. Therefore, PHG Gurjant Singh compelled my father to commit suicide since he was under a great deal of stress.”
According to the complainant, PHG Gurjant Singh should lose his good reputation for stealing thousands of rupees from Malkhana police station in Lambi. He also urged that legal action should be taken against him for forcing his father, Gurpal Singh, to die. Based on the complainant's statements, Police Station Lambi has filed a case against the accused PHG Gurjant Singh.
