Atleast 10 injured after unsafe building collapses in Ludhiana

A three-storey factory at Ludhiana's RK Road collapsed today. Atleast ten people were seriously injured due to the incident, the nearby building also faced damage. The incident happened when few people were inside the factory around 8:30am in morning.

The nearby people immediately took the injured people to Mohandai Oswal Hospital.

According to the reports, “A fire incident was reported at Aarti Wollen Mill nearly one and a half years ago and the factory was then declared unsafe and was lying sealed since last many days. But on Thursday morning few people went inside the factory from the side gate to get some goods, and suddenly the third floor of the building collapsed.

To the other side of the factory is Amit Pahwa's place where there are around fifty rooms for workers, reportedly the debris also damaged the rooms badly.

According to the workers living there, most of their household stuff has been buried under the debris causing them great loss. Babu, Papu and Prakash Kumar the workers living there added that they were off to work in the morning when the incident happened which led to a state of total turmoil and chaos.

Mayor blamed for Negligence -

Congress Vice President Mr. Jagmohan Sharma said that even after 2 hours of the accident no Municipal Corporation Officer reached the spot.

He further added that he called the Mayor to report the incident but the Mayor turned a deaf ear to his complaint.
