Ayodhya case: SC extends mediation till July 31, to hear the matter on Aug 2

The Supreme Court on Thursday said that it will hear the Ayodhya land title case in an open court on August 2 and directed the mediation panel to continue with the process and submit a fresh status report on July 31

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday said that it will hear the Ayodhya land title case in an open court on August 2 and directed the mediation panel to continue with the process and submit a fresh status report on July 31. 

A constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi and other four judges, took into the record the status report submitted by the mediation panel and said, "We now fix the date of hearing on August 2. We request the mediation committee to inform the outcome of the proceedings as of July 31."

The mediation panel comprises former Supreme Court judge FMI Kalifulla, spiritual guru and founder of Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri  Ravishankar and senior advocate Sriram Panchu, a renowned mediator.
