Babri Demolition Case Verdict: All acquitted in case;Judge says no sufficient evidence available

Accused who were in court include Faizabad MP Lallu Singh, Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj , Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Ram temple trust member Champat Rai and 22 others. LK Advani, Uma Bharti, Kalyan Singh, MM Joshi, Satish Pradhan, Nritya Gopal Das were not present in court.

Special CBI judge Surendra Kumar Yadav has delivered his verdict in the Babri Masjid demolition case on Wednesday, 28 years after the 16th century structure was razed by a mob in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya town.

Special CBI court says that There's not enough evidence against the accused and All accused in Babri case are acquitted.

All six accused, who are not present in the court, have joined via video conferencing as the Babri verdict demolition verdict is being read out. 

The hearings on Babri Masjid demolition involved evidence from 351 CBI witnesses and about 600 exhibits. As the hearings ended on September 1, the judge had started writing the judgment from the very next day to meet the deadline set by the Supreme Court.

 In April 2017, the Supreme Court had asked a special court to complete the trial within two years with daily hearings. Later, it was given several extensions and when the judge asked for more time, the court had extended the deadline to September 30.
