Ban on nail polish & tattoos, no entry without dupatta..: Strict Govt School dress code issued by THIS state

In an attempt to introduce equality among students and induce discipline in them, the Himachal Pradesh Government has introduced a strict dress code for girls and boys studying in government schools. Himachal Pradesh government school dress code has some major talking points as it bans female students from applying nail polish, wearing tight-fitting clothes, and even bans tattoos on their bodies. For boys, the Himachal Pradesh school guidelines ban them from applying gel or colour on their hair. As per reports, from the new academic session, children will come to school wearing the dress prescribed by the department only. 

 

As per new Himachal Pradesh dress code guidelines, you will not be allowed to come to school even wearing fashionable pants with tight or excessively open seams. The student who comes dressed in fashionable attire will not be allowed to enter the school. Girls with body tattoos and nail polish will not be allowed to come to school. Girl students will have to wear long shirts (Kameez) up to one inch below the knees.

 

Dupatta and hair braid mandatory for female students


Girls will have to come to school wearing a scarf or dupatta, a V-neck school sweater, and two braids of hair or two ponytails. The Education Department has given 6 options for uniforms to schools. The school management will be able to choose a uniform from these. This dress code will apply to students from class 1 to 12. Regarding this, the Director of Elementary and Higher Education has issued instructions to all the Deputy Directors. Below are the six options in the Himachal Pradesh Government School Dress Code- 

 

1) Boys will wear a white shirt, grey-coloured pants, navy blue Coloured blazer, a pullover navy blue, and tie Colour will also be navy blue. Along with this, black Coloured shoes, gray Coloured socks, and black belts will be there. Girls will also have the same Colour of dress.

If suits are chosen for female students then it will be light gray kameez, white salwar, navy blue blazer, navy blue pullover, black shoes, and gray socks.

 

2) For girls, a white shirt, navy blue Colour pants, navy blue Colour skirt, gray pullover, navy blue Colour tie, black shoes, and gray socks have been decided. The same dress has been decided for boys also. If they choose a salwar kameez, they will be able to choose a navy colour shirt, white salwar, or navy blue Colour blazer.

 

3) For girls, a light peach Colour shirt, chocolate Colour shirt, chocolate brown Colour blazer, pullover Colour will also be chocolate brown, and tie Colour will also be chocolate. For boys, a light peach-coloured shirt and chocolate brown Coloured kurta have been decided. If the option of a salwar kameez is chosen for girls, then there will be an option to choose between a light peach colour shirt and a white salwar dress.

 

4) For boys, you will get the option of a light khaki colour shirt, military colour shirt, blazer military green. For girls, you will get the option of a light khaki shirt, and military green Colour paint. Salwar for girls will also be military green check and white salwar.

 

5) For boys, a pistachio green Coloured shirt and dark green Coloured blazer with light khaki pants have been decided. Girls' salwar kameez is a pistachio green shirt and white salwar.

 

6) For boys, a white shirt, dark gray pants, maroon-Coloured blazer, dark gray pullover, black shoes with white or maroon-Coloured tie, white socks, and black belt have been prescribed. The same dress will remain for girls also. Instead of pants, girls will get the option of a skirt. Girls opting for salwar or suit have been given the option to choose gray and maroon Coloured shirts, white salwar, maroon blazer, dark gray pullovers, black shoes, and gray Coloured socks.
