Bank Holidays in May 2025: Banks to remain closed for 10 days, Check dates & cities

With April 2025 coming to an end, summer is all set to peak in the month of May 2025. Amid peaking summers in India, people may opt to go to hill stations along with their family in order to skip the soaring temperatures. However, before planning a holiday, people must know about the list of Bank Holidays in May 2025, so that they can complete their financial work. As per the RBI's official calendar, banks will remain closed for at least 10 days in May 2025. However, Bank Holidays May 2025 will be dependent upon the regions as well. Below is a list of bank holidays in May 2025-

• May 9 (Birthday of Rabindranath Tagore)- Kolkata
• May 12 (Buddha Purnima)- Agartala, Aizwal, Belapur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar
• May 16 (State Day)- Gangtok
• May 26 (Birthday of Kazi Nazrul Islam) - Agartala
• May 29 (Maharana Pratap Jayanti)- Shimla

Note- Banks will also remain closed on the Second and Fourth Saturday. Sundays are also bank holidays.
