In a bizarre development, a TTE of Barauni-Lucknow Express lost his calm and started to slap a passenger for allegedly traveling without a ticket. Barauni-Lucknow Express TTE video went viral on X, formerly Twitter, showing the accused TTE repeatedly slapping the passenger onboard the train number 15203. In the video, the passenger can also be seen asking the accused TTE the reason for the assault. Barauni-Lucknow Express TTE video further showcased that the Ticket Collector tried to hit other passengers as well who were trying to stop him. Not only this, the TTE even jumped to slap a passenger who was recording him in the act.
Barauni-Lucknow Express TTE Video sparked massive outrage on social media on Thursday. Netizens outlined how such people in power misuse their power against the poor. As a result, the Barauni-Lucknow Express TTE viral came under the Union Railway Ministry's scanner, and the Ticket Collector was suspended.
The Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) was suspended as informed by the Union Railway Ministry on X. Even Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reacted to the incident and clarified that there is no place for violence and hence the TTE is suspended. Indian Railway in its statement said, "A video surfaces on social media of TTE on Barauni-Lucknow express slapping a passenger. The concerned TTE has been suspended by the competent authority and an inquiry has been initiated against the concerned." DRM in its statement informed, "The concerned TTE has been suspended by the competent authority and an inquiry has been initiated against the concerned."
