Team India on Thursday received a grand welcome both in New Delhi and Mumbai. The T20 World Cup 2024 champions returned to India on Thursday after being stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. At first, Team India went to meet PM Modi at his residence where they interacted with the Prime Minister, thereafter, the Men In Blue headed straight to Mumbai to participate in a victory parade organised from Nariman Point (Marine Point) to Wankhede Stadium. At the Wankhede Stadium, Team India was felicitated by the BCCI with a Rs 125 Crore cheque. There were many unforgettable moments during Team India's victory parade, however, Rohit Sharma's video with his mother is spreading like a wildfire on X.
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma's father & mother- Gurunath Sharma & Purnima Sharma were present in the stands watching their son getting love from fans in the stadium. When Rohit Sharma headed back to the pavilion, the Team India skipper was warmly hugged by his mother in the presence of the media. Rohit Sharma's mother could not control herself and started to shower his son with kisses. Seeing the media present, Rohit Sharma like typical son was heard saying, 'Bas Karo Mummy (Enough Mother)'.
Reacting to Rohit Sharma's mother video, a user wrote, "Did I hear his mother saying 'Na koduku na koduku' (my son my son)"
