Batala jeweller robbed at Gunpoint in broad daylight; Rs 7.5 lakh worth of gold & cash looted

The robbers looted 13 tola gold and Rs 5,000 cash from a jewellery shop named Babbar Jeweller in Mann Nagar, Batala.

In a major development, at least three robbers looted Babbar Jeweller at gunpoint on Saturday in Mann Nagar of Batala, Punjab. The robbers looted 13 tola gold and Rs 5,000 cash. As a result, the local Police swung into action and launched an investigation. The local Police seeing the nearby CCTVs and are trying to identify the robbers who carried out the crime in broad daylight. 

 

As per the information received, the robbery at Babbar Jeweller was done by hatching a plan. The robbers did the Reiki of the shop one or two times and then carried out the crime. First, two people came in disguise of customers and asked the shopkeeper to shop them both male & female gold rings. After some time, a third robber arrives. The one who was almost dressed like a Nihang Singh came and took out a sharp weapon. Then one of the two robbers already present took out a pistol, took the jewellery at gunpoint, and ran away with all the gold.

 

Babbar Jeweler owner Suvinder Singh was quoted saying that in the afternoon three people came to the shop riding a motorcycle. One of them took out a revolver and the other took out a sharp knife and looted the gold. The victim Suvinder Singh said that a person had already come to the shopkeeper twice and inquired about the gold and today he looted it.
