Food and Drug Administration Chief Rolando EnriqueDomingo said that India's Bharat Biotech has submitted an application for theemergency use approval of its vaccine in Philippines.
Covaxin is an indigenous vaccine and one of the twovaccines that was given approval for restrictive use in emergency situations inIndia. Covaxin is developed by Bharat Biotech who earlier also has aroundbasket of 15 vaccines in the market. It has been developed in collaborationwith National Institute of Virology (NIV) and Indian Council Medical Research(ICMR).
Bharat Biotech is the fourth vaccine maker to apply foremergency use approval in Philippines.
