As President Donald Trump lifted travel restrictions thatwould have been effective from January 26, the upcoming Biden administrationhave extended travel restrictions barring travel by people in Europe and Brazilas per a report published in Reuters and BBC.
The restrictions imposed by early last year by DonaldTrump in response to the pandemic were lifted by the president after an orderon Monday. Soon after the news about the lifting of restrictions from January26, the spokesperson, Jen Psaki, of the upcoming President Joe Biden tweeted,"on the advice of our medical team, the Administration does not intend tolift these restrictions on 1/26.”
“With the pandemic worsening, and more contagiousvariants emerging around the world, this is not the time to be lifting restrictionson international travel,” Jen Psaki added.
The head of the Centers for Disease Control andPrevention in an order signed last week asked travelers to present a negativecoronavirus report to enter US from January 26.
