CM Mann in today’s assembly session alleged that the Central Government during the Pathankot terror had demanded Rs 7.50 crores from Punjab for sending the army to the state. Mann was an MP at that time. He said that when he got to know about that he met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh with MP Sandhu Singh.
The terror attack happened in 2016 in Pathankot airbase. The armed terrorists came in the uniform of the army inside the airbase. It was revealed in the investigation that all the terrorists came in through the India-Pakistan border through the Ravi River. After reaching India, they hijacked some vehicles and reached the airbase. During the attack, 7 soldiers were martyred. After this, the army came and killed 5 terrorists.
Regarding the demand, Man said that- I told them to deduct the amount from our MP LAD fund, but give it to us in writing that we had given the army on rent to Punjab. after this the Defense Minister did not take any money. Today’s assembly session was called regarding the Chandigarh matter. A few days ago, the central government made the Chandigarh employees under the Central Service rules. After this, AAP called a special session for discussing the matter. All this was discussed during the same session. He said that discrimination is being done against the state.
