Big controversy in NIT Jalandhar: College Director calls reports of MBA Student's sexual harassment by Professor 'Fake'

While talking to True Scoop News, NIT Jalandhar Director & Professor Binod Kumar Kanaujia said that the report saying an MBA student was harassed by a Professor is fake.

In a massive development, the National Institute of India (NIT) Jalandhar's Directory & Professor Binod Kumar Kanaujia has denied reports saying that an MBA student was allegedly sexually harassed by the college's professor. On Saturday, it was reported that many students protested against the NIT college administration on Friday after an MBA student accused a Ph.D. Professor for sexually harassing her and attempting rape on the pretext of passing her examinations. The report further suggested that Maqsudan Police Station had to reach the NIT Jalandhar Campus to intervene into the matter. However, NIT Jalandhar's Director & Professor Binod Kumar Kanaujia while talking to True Scoop News denied any such incident and called the report as fake & baseless. 

 

While talking to True Scoop News, Professor Binod Kumar Kanaujia said that the report which has been published by a Hindi web portal is fake. Neither any student complained about the sexual harassment to the NIT College administration, nor did hundreds of students stage protests on campus. The report which has been published about sexual harassment in NIT Jalandhar is totally fake. 

 

Thereafter, True Scoop News contacted Maqsudan Police Station's SHO Rajesh Thakur as well. SHP Rajesh Thakur also denied the report saying that no Police team visited NIT Jalandhar on Friday. Thakur also stated that Maqsudan Police did not receive any complaint in any format from students or from college administration. While the college and the Police denied the report, the report suggests that the administration was trying to persuade the student to solve the situation in-house. 

 

What are the claims in the NIT Jalandhar sexual harassment case?

 

As per the report, an MBA student alleged that the professor tried to rape and sexually harass her in exchange for passing her examinations. The report further alleged that a complaint was given to Jalandhar's Women's Cell regarding this. Furthermore, it was alleged that the Professor had joined the institute only about 11 months ago.
