The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday morning, just weeks before assembly elections, carried out raids at ten different locations belonging to Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey, in connection with a Prevention of Money Laundering case pertaining to illegal sand mining in Punjab.

A source said that the ED team conducted first raid at the residence of Honey which is at Homeland Heights early Tuesday morning. No one was allowed to leave the house. The ED was scanning various documents and computers.

The Enforcement Directorate team raided around 10-12 places in Punjab including the house of Punjab's Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's Nephew in Mohali.

CM Channi came forward after the raid at his Nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey's home. CM said that this is the misuse of ED by the central government. The raid is being conducted to target him and putting pressure on him before the elections. This is not good for the country's democracy.

According to sources, Central agencies are closely keeping an eye on big politicians of Punjab. From a long time, they have been focusing on Punjab’s ministers.

During the Congress crisis, Captain Amarinder Singh handed over some important documents to Sonia Gandhi which contains names of some politicians who were involved in various scams. Now, after leaving the Congress party Captain Amarinder Singh has given the same documents to BJP government. Those documents are acting as a great source of information for the Central Agencies.

The Central Agencies after getting confirmed information are taking steps against such big leaders. Earlier, Sukhpal Singh Khaira has been arrested and two more big politicians from SAD were arrested by Enforcement Directorate. In the coming days, more revelations can be expected by the Central Agencies before Assembly Elections 2022.
