Big relief to Former Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot: HC grants bail in Forest Scam case

Along with Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, bail has also been granted to Daljit Gilzian, the nephew of former minister Sangat Singh Gilzian.

Former Punjab Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has got bail. On Monday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court granted this relief. Along with Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, bail has also been granted to Daljit Gilzian, the nephew of former minister Sangat Singh Gilzian. The High Court has yet to issue a detailed order in this regard, though.

Due to a corruption case, Dharamsot and Daljit Giljian are presently detained. In the last hearing, there was an argument between the lawyers of the government and the former minister. After which the HC reserved the decision.

Former minister Dharamsot and Gilzian , were accused of the forest scam. It is alleged that Dharamsot accepted a Rs 500 bribe in exchange for cutting down a tree. As a result, it was said that he had accepted a bribe of roughly Rs 1,25,00,000. The Vigilance then detained him early the next morning from his Amloh home. Since then he is in jail. Sangat Singh Gilzian is also an accused in the same case. Who has been granted anticipatory bail by the High Court, but the Vigilance arrested his nephew Daljit Gilzian. After which he is also lodged in jail.

The AAP government in Punjab is keeping an eye on a number of former Congress ministers. In connection with the tender scam, former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu has been detained. The investigation of the bus body case against former minister Amarinder Raja Warring is going on. A case has also been registered against him for making Arvind Kejriwal's fake letter viral.

In addition to these, Sukhjinder Randhawa is being investigated for providing VIP treatment to gangster Mukhtar Ansari, while Tript Rajinder Bajwa is being accused of misappropriating proceeds from a land transaction.
