Debate on 'Hindu Terror' reignites, BJP and Congress indulges in verbal spat: Adhir Ranjan cites context, Amit Malviya counters with Digvijaya Singh video

Following Union Minister Piyush Goyal's alleged remarks on Congress leaders for coining the term post 26/11, BJP and Congress has ignited a verbal spat on 'Hindu Terror.'

BJP Congress Hindu-Terror

On Wednesday, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan hit back at Piyush Goyal and said the context was different when the term Hindu terrorism was coined. "There was a different background when Hindu terror word was coined. Mecca Masjid blast had taken place and Pragya Thakur, others were arrested then," said Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

The Congress leader further said investigation was carried out during the term of ruling UPA government which revealed everything about the attack. "Terrorists always camaouflage. They do not carry out attacks with their actual identity. It was the UPA government which revealed everything about the attack. Ajmal Kasab was later hanged during UPA rule," Adhir Ranjan said.

BJP's GVL Narasimha Rao on reacting to the Congress leader's statement said, there seemed to be a connection emerging between the Congress's idea of Hindu terror and LeT and ISI's 26/11 strategy.

"Was someone from India helping ISI as handler to give terrorists Hindu identity? Was Digvijaya Singh working as handler? Congress should answer this," said BJP's GVL Narasimha Rao.

BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya, earlier, tweeted an old video of Congress leader Digvijaya Singh blaming the RSS after the 26/11 attacks. "Soon after the 26/11 terror attack, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh along with cheerleaders from Bollywood, at a book launch, which blamed the RSS said 'Nowhere in this book you can see the involvement of Pakistani terrorists in 26/11'", Amit Malviya said. "Exactly what Pakistan wanted them to say."

Pragya Thakur slams the new stir says "Script was Written"

Bhopal MP Pragya Thakur has also appeared on front foot and slammed Congress after former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria revealed facts. Pragya Thakur while speaking to media house said, "I have been saying that the script has been written. This is a conspiracy of the Congress."

The minister further added, ""I was only made a pawn. It is true that they were the first to use the term Hindu terrorists in the wake of Malegaon blast in 2008. Immediately after this attack, Digvijay Singh released a book called Hindu terrorism in which he said the 26/11 attack on Mumbai was done by Hindus and RSS."

Accusing the Congress of conspiring, Pragya Thakur said, "Our enemy countries get encouraged after statements by Congress leaders. While living in India, being such a big party, it all plans for Pakistan, the sleeper cell is here. My demand is that there should be a thorough investigation and those who are involved should be punished severely."

How did the debate over Hindu Terror resume

After the former Mumabi Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria in his book revealed a series of facts, it reignited the debate on the topic of 'Hindu terror'. Maria, in his autobiography, claimed that had Pakistani terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Kasab not been caught alive, the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack would have been dubbed by certain media as the handiwork of "Hindu" terrorists.

Kasab's body would have been found with an I-card bearing a fictitious Hindu name, Maria wrote in his memoir 'Let Me Say It Now' released recently. In the 624-page book, Maria wrote extensively about the investigation helmed by him into the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

"If all had gone well, he (Kasab) would have been dead with a red string tied around his wrist like a Hindu. We would have found an identity card on his person with a fictitious name: Samir Dinesh Chaudhari, student of Arunodaya Degree and PG College, Vedre Complex, Dilkhushnagar, Hyderabad, 500060, resident of 254, Teachers Colony, Nagarabhavi, Bengaluru," Maria wrote.
