BJP leaders abstain from a debate with farmers; Farmers say will ‘show strength’ on May 22

The ongoing Farmer’s protest is still going strong at the border areas of Punjab and Haryana. In latest development, 5 BJP leaders abstained from attending a debate with farmers. Farmers had installed 5 chairs on which the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda, National President of BJP and State President Jakhar were written. Farmer leaders reportedly waited for BJP leaders till 3:00 pm.

 

Farmers informed in the press conference despite the BJP leaders’ absence, they still invite the BJP leaders for a talk, saying that the time and place will be yours. The farmers say that they are ready to come wherever they want for debate. They said that farmers will overwhelm the BJP leaders through table talks only.

 

Farmers will show strength at the border on May 22

The farmer leaders say that answers to pertinent questions being raised about the movement will be answered on 22nd May. When the movement completes 100 days, lakhs of farmers will gather on all the borders to raise their voice against the government.

 

Farmers ‘Rail Roko’ movement:

Farmers say that a large number of farmers will reach the Haryana border on account of labor day on May 1. Farmer leaders have made it clear in the press conference that their three farmer friends who have been arrested by the police will not be released without any conditions until they move away from the railway track.

 

BJP spokesperson Vineet Joshi said that the BJP government has been serious from the beginning regarding the issues of farmers. Several rounds of talks have been held in Chandigarh. As far as today's debate is concerned, no invitation has been given to their leaders nor has anyone invited them.
