West Bengal: BJP party office set on fire, party blames TMC

Reports have come out from news agency stating BJP office was set on fire in Salanpur, Asanol, a village of West Bengal by some unidentified people on Sunday night.

Asanol parliamentary consituency is being represented by Babul Supriyo, who is union minister in the NDA- led central government.

The BJP party allegedly accused Trinamool Congress (TMC) behind the incident, however, the alleghations have been denied by the TMC.

Earlier, BJP party had accused TMC goon on attacking their office in a similar way.

BJP leader Gopal Roy said that TMC goons have set the party office on fire because they are worried about the growing influence of BJP in the area.

He further added, the BJP had orgainsed a blanket distibution programme in the area in which large number of people gathered. "After this, the TMC got worried and out of jealousy they set ablaze the party office of BJP," said Gopal Roy.

However, all such allegations have been denied by the TMC leader Hareram Tiwari. 

He said that the incident is consequence of ongoing conflicts within their own party (BJP). Tiwari even alleged that the BJP leaders " do all illegal activities including alcohol consumption inside the party office."

The BJP said that police reached late to the spot despite being informed soon after the party office caught fire.

The matter is being investigated by the police.
