In solidarity with the farmer protests against the threefarm laws, the political party BJP is facing heat. This morning Ashwani Sharmawas gheraoed and the farmers breached police barricades to reach his vehicle.
The farmers allegedly attempted to disrespect the turban ofSukhpal Singh Nannu who was accompanying the State Leader of the party.
The State Leader had reached Ferozepur to meet with hisparty workers. Once the farmers got wind of his plan, they swarmed upon the venueto ensure that the meeting does not take place.

The police stated that his car was not attacked.
Light lathi-charge had to be initiated to put out theescalating violence from the farmers. In counter-attack, the party workers, liketheir attackers, blocked highway near Deputy Commissioner Office to expresstheir displeasure.
Yesterday, in Nawanshahr in Pandora neighbourhood, when theState Leader arrived for a party program, farmers were protesting against thesame there also. Consequently, the environment was volatile from 12 noon to 4pm.
