In solidarity with the farmer protests against the three farm laws, the political party BJP is facing heat. This morning Ashwani Sharma was gheraoed and the farmers breached police barricades to reach his vehicle.
The farmers allegedly attempted to disrespect the turban of Sukhpal Singh Nannu who was accompanying the State Leader of the party.
The State Leader had reached Ferozepur to meet with his party workers. Once the farmers got wind of his plan, they swarmed upon the venue to ensure that the meeting does not take place.

The police stated that his car was not attacked.
Light lathi-charge had to be initiated to put out the escalating violence from the farmers. In counter-attack, the party workers, like their attackers, blocked highway near Deputy Commissioner Office to express their displeasure.
Yesterday, in Nawanshahr in Pandora neighbourhood, when the State Leader arrived for a party program, farmers were protesting against the same there also. Consequently, the environment was volatile from 12 noon to 4 pm.
