In public interest and as part of a statewide emergency mock drill, a partial blackout will be conducted in specific areas of Ludhiana on May 7, between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM. This exercise is aimed at testing emergency preparedness amid heightened India-Pakistan tensions.
The blackout will be limited to certain localities, with authorities using sirens to alert residents and simulate a real-time emergency response.
The areas in Ludhiana affected by the blackout are as follows:
1. Bhanohar – Bhanohar, Hasanpur, Baddowal
2. Rurka – Rurka, Jangpur, Khadoor
3. Haveli – City Adda Dakha
4. Adda City – City Adda Dakha
5. Ajitsar – City Adda Dakha
6. Haveli – City Adda Dakha
7. ITBP – Independent zone
8. Issewal – Issewal, Gahour, Detwal
9. Baraich – Mullanpur, Kailpur, Baraich
10. Shellar – Mullanpur, Madiani, Mor Karima
11. Boothgarh – Dakha, including Badowal Cantonment Area (fed from 66kV Rajguru Nagar)
Officials have stressed that this is a mock drill only and there is no actual threat to public safety. Citizens are urged to remain calm, stay informed, and cooperate fully during the scheduled drill.
