Another blow to drug trafficking under the "Yudh Nashian Virudh", Commissionerate Police Jalandhar under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur arrested three persons involved in drug trafficking and recovered 5.5 kg of heroin.
Divulging the details, the CP Jalandhar said that as part of the anti-drug campaign against drugs in the city, FIR No. 45 dated 22.02.2025 under Sections 21/29-61-85 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Division No. 8, Jalandhar. Under this, the wanted accused Rinku Singh alias Gandhi, son of Balkar Singh, resident of village Muhar Khewa, district Fazilka, was brought from Central Jail Faridkot on a production warrant. During interrogation, based on his disclosures, two more accused involved in the same case were identified and arrested: Vikramjeet Singh alias Vicky alias Mani, son of late Sumeer Lal, resident of Guru Nanak Nagar, village Bahadur Ke, district Ferozepur; and Lovepreet Singh alias Lucky, son of Mohan Singh, resident of village Nawan Salemshah, district Fazilka.
She further said that all three accused have links with Pakistan and are involved in cross-border drug trafficking using drones along the Punjab-Pakistan border. During questioning, the accused Rinku Singh alias Gandhi, Vikramjeet Singh alias Vickey alias Mani, and Lovepreet Singh alias Lucky led to the recovery of 5.5 kilograms of heroin near Ferozepur. This is in addition to three other accused previously arrested in the same case. The special cell team has achieved significant success in dismantling the drug network.
Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur said that to effectively eliminate the drug trafficking network, a thorough investigation is being conducted into the backgrounds and connections of the accused.
